Week In View: March 31st - April 6th

Hey Ladies,

Today I have another Week In View post to share with you how I decorated my diary pages in my large Kikki K mint planner for the week ahead.

This week my mum will be celebrating her birthday so I decided to use a lot of green as it is her favorite colour. She is also quite partial to glitter and fairies so I included some of those too

Left
I used two types of washi tape to decorate these pages. The first is a solid green with pink, purple, yellow and blue polkadots. This tape came in a packet of 16 from Spotlight. The second washi tape I used is a teal green and clear stripe washi from Kaiser Craft. I cut it in half and applied them so that they created an unconnected chevron point toward the centre of the pages.

Right
The stickers that I used in this page were purchased from the Reject shop. My mother really loves glitter and fairies and I thought these were absolutely perfect. The glitter on these stickers is an irridescent green, which is my mum's favorite colour

As extra writing space for my "To Do" and "Awesome thing that happened this week" lists, I added in a lined 6 x 4 Project Life journal card which I decorated with the same stickers from the Reject Shop. I also added a 3 x 4 journal card from the Kaiser Craft "Favorite Things" set which says "Never Forget Today" because I never want to forget my mother's birthday (if I did I would be in BIG trouble!).

On the back of the card I wrote one of her favorite quotes, it reads:
"A diamond is a piece of charcoal that handled stress exceptionally well. Dream, Sparkle, Shine and never give up" - Unknown

I included this quote because my mothers favorite gem stone is a diamond and it is also her birth stone, so I thought it would be nice to include a little sentiment like that

Week In View: March 24th - March 30th

Hey Ladies,

I have another Week In View post for my decorated diary pages to share with you today. This week I decided to go with a pink and purple cat theme. For the past two weeks I have been "kitty sitting" Tippy, one of the kittens that we found under the daisy bush in our yard a few weeks ago. Well today she gets to go home with her mummy and I thought I would decorate my pages for the occasion.

I know that my pages look fairly blank when I start to show them to you but I really don't like sharing all of my appointments and things with the public as some of them are quite personal. Anyway, onto the photos!

Left
For these pages I use three types of washi tape that I purchased from Spotlight. Two of the tapes, the purple chevron and the pink spotted, came in sets of 16 tapes. I cut the pink spotted tape in half so I could use it to separate the days. I then applied a strip of purple heart washi tape along the top of the page

Right
The stickers that I used for these pages were purchased from Reject shop. I really love the little "Purrr...", "I <3 and="" are="" as="" butterfly="" cats="" cute="" flower="" i="" p="" so="" stickers="" the="" they="" think="">
Add ons and To do list
As I said in my last Week to View post, I like to add little journal cards for decoration and added spaces to write out To Do lists. For this week I used a journal card from the Kaiser Craft "Happy Days" set which says "Celebrate the Little Things", which is something I forget to do.

I also added my usual 6 x 4 lined Project Life journal card so I can write out anything I need to remember this week and also the positives that happen. I decorated it with some more of the cat stickers that I used on these pages.

NOTD - Kikki K Mint Dayplanner Inspired Nails

Hey Ladies,

Today I have a gorgeous Nail of the Day post to share with you, but first a little back story into what inspired it!

If you have been following me on my Instagram account you should know by now that I recently purchased a large mint dayplanner from Kikki K to help get myself organized and be able to start posting more on my bog and Youtube.

I have had organizers before and had used them in the past for blog organization but sadly the planner brand that I had stopped producing the week to two pages refills in the desk size planner I was using and I hadn't been able to find a new source. Enter my discovery of the Kikki K mint dayplanner! I found this through one of the girls in the Aussie Nails Facebook page and really wanted to get my hands on it.

This pretty mint with gold dots planner is what has inspired my nails for today.

For this manicure I used two coats of China Glaze "Refresh Mint", a gorgeous mint creme finish polish from the Up and Away Collection [2010]. The application of this polish is beautiful and it applies nicely to the nail.

I then decided that I wanted to stamp a design in gold onto each of the nails. Originally I was going to go with a dotted design to exactly match the planner, but I ended up changing my mind to a script image from the MoYou Pro Collection image plate 07. I stamped this image using China Glaze "Passion", a gorgeous pale gold chrome from the Romantiques Collection [2009]

..:: ITEMS USED ::..
Duri Rejuvacoat base coat (1 coat)
OPI Original Nail Envy (1 coat)
China Glaze "Refresh Mint" (2 coats)
China Glaze "Passion" (stamping)
MoYou Pro Collection 07
Stamper and scraper
Seche Vite top coat (1 coat)

As you can see from the images with my planner, "Refresh Mint" has a little bit more of a yellow tone to it than the planner itself, but it was the closest polish that I had to the colour. I had previously tried China Glaze "For Audrey" but it was a little too dark.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this inspired manicure. I have really gotten into organizing and decorating my dayplanner so I may be showing it to you in a little while to show you how I organize my time.

Week In View - March 17th to March 23rd

Hey Ladies,

If you have been following me via Instagram you should know by now that I recently got myself a Kikki K mint day planner in order to help me get myself organized and encourage me to keep better track of my blog posts and the like.

I have seen a lot of people on Instagram being really creative with the decorating of their planners and decided to join in and in turn share my creativity with the people who follow my blog. This is the first week that I have really attempted to do any in depth decoration and I was really pleased with the results.

For this week I was inspired by a packet of cute stickers that I picked up from the Reject shop this past week. I really loved these little ladies in kimonos and was inspired to use the beautiful colours of green, teal and pink to coordinate my pages.

..:: ITEMS USED ::..
washi tape (Spotlight)
Kaisercraft Happy Days 3x4 journal card (Spotlight)
Kimono Girls stickers (the Reject Shop)
Project Life lined 6x4 journal card (not pictured - Spotlight)

Left
I used three rolls of washi tape that I picked up from Spotlight this past week. The pink chevron came in a set of 16 different coloured and patterned chevron tapes. The green dotted washi came in a similar 16 tape set, but I cut it in half to make it thinner. The teal tape that I used at the top of the page came in a set of two that was also from Spotlight

Right
The cute little Kimono girls I got from a sticker sheet that I purchased at the Reject Shop this past week, they were just too cute I couldn't go past them.

I also added a 3 x 4 inch journal card from the Kaisercraft Happy Days set to add a little more decoration and also a space for me to add a to do list. I normally add a lined 6 x 4 journal card from Project Life to each of my weeks so I have somewhere to document positives from my week so I have something good to look back on when I go through my pages

Tutorial: Burning Sugar Look

Hey Ladies,

Today I have another makeup tutorial to share with you. As most of you know by now, I really love smokey eye looks, but I also love using colour. I've been seeing this trend lately of creating beautiful smokey eye looks with pops of colour on the waterline, so I felt inspired to create my own.

I used my favourite pigment from Sugarpill Cosmetics, "Royal Sugar", to create a beautiful bright yet smokey look. I paired this beautiful almost neon royal blue pigment with "Flamepoint" from the Burning Heart pallet to create a little more contrast.

Tutorial - Sugarpill Heartbreaker Palette Look

Hey Ladies,

Today I have a look that I featured on Instagram and my blog a few days ago and I got a really fantastic reception from you guys asking for a tutorial.

This look was inspired by a tutorial by Vintage or Tack on Youtube and features the Sugarpill Heartbreaker palette. I love Sugarpill eye shadows, but I don't seem to wear them as much as they deserve to be worn. They are amazing quality and are insanely bright and pigmented.

FOTD - Valentine's Day Heartbreaker

Hey Ladies,

Today I have a Face of the Day post that I want to share with you. I created this look from a tutorial by Vintage or Tacky on Youtube and wore it out on Valentine's Day when I went to breakfast with a girlfriend of mine.

I got a lot of good response from the look when I posted it on Instagram and also in person, so I have filmed a tutorial on this look that will go up next Wednesday

Tutorial: Anti-Valentine's Day Look

Hey Ladies,

I know that Valentine's Day has been and gone, but unfortunetly I didn't get this video filmed and edited in time to put up on the big day. Nevertheless, I thought I would upload the video so you can see how I created this dark and smokey look.

I have never really been one to get in on the whole Valentine's Day. In the past when I have had a partner, I have always been left disappointed because we never really did anything, so my hopes for the day are like any other.

I called this my Anti-Valentine's Day look because I know that the usual thing with Valentine's Day looks is light and bright, lots of pinks and purples, so with this look I went the complete opposite!

TMI Tag

Hey Ladies,

Sorry it has been a while since I posted anything on the blog but we've had a sad time the last few weeks with two deaths in quick succession.

Sadly my grandmother passed away on the 30th of January and my cat, Salem, was put to sleep on 8th of February, so I've been a bit mopey about everything and not wanting to fake a happy Nat in front of the camera.

After taking a little time, I have decided it is about time to get back into the swing of things and begin posting tutorials and the like again here on my blog and on Youtube. I didn't really have much in mind and wanted to get something easy to edit up as soon as I could so I decided to go with a tag video.

The tag that I chose is the TMI tag which I thought would be a good one considering I haven't put out a non-tutorial video before and many of my viewers don't really read my personal blog posts.

So without blabbing on any further, to the video! (And yes, there will be a tutorial on the look I am wearing in the future).
