Foil Focus Friday - Majestic Tides

Hey Guys,
Welcome back to my Foil Focus Friday series, weekly posts featuring foils in my collection. Today's foil will be Majestic Tides which I purchased from Dollar Nail Art.

I purchased this with my own money and this post is in no way sponsored by Dollar Nail Art.

Majestic Tides is a fuchsia based foil with a linear ripple along the width of the foil. It is very similar to Bahamian Tides but the colour base is more of a hot pink. The ripples of the foil create a holographic effect by reflecting pink, purple and blue when the light hits it

As a base polish for this foil I used China Glaze "Laced Up" which is a really lovely blue based pink creme that matches the undertones of Majestic Tides really well

Foil Focus Friday - Lava Tides

Hey Guys,
Welcome back to my Foil Focus Friday series, weekly posts featuring foils in my collection. Today's foil will be Lava Tides which I purchased from Dollar Nail Art.

I purchased this with my own money and this post is in no way sponsored by Dollar Nail Art.

Lava Tides is a blue based red foil with a water-like ripple pattern running along the width of the foil. The pattern of this foil is not like Scarlet Frost, but it is like linear ripples, which reflect orange, red, pink, blue and purple depending where the light hits it

As a base colour for this nail art foil, I used China Glaze "Salsa", a blue base nail polish that nicely matches the undertones of Lava Tides and helps to hide any mistakes in the appication process

Aussie Nails Monday - Bling

Hey Ladies,

Today I have another manicure for Aussie Nails Monday and today's theme was "Bling". I really didn't feel like using a lot of rhinestones or glitter so I decided to do a simple stamping manicure and this is how it turned out

I chose to dress up my manicure from yesterday, China Glaze "Tart-y for the Party", by stamping it with the full nail butterflies image from Bundle Monster image plate BM307 using China Glaze "LOL", a medium purple with a rainbow linear holographic effect from the OMG Collection [2009].

I really love that the OMG Collection polishes stamp so well, they add a beautiful rainbow interest to the stamping design and give these nails a fairy princess quality. I think that I could have improved this manicure if I had applied a fine holographic glitter to increase the blinginess of the manicure

NOTD - China Glaze "Tart-y for the Party"

Hey Ladies,

Today I have a really pretty Nail of the Day swatch for you with China Glaze "Tart-y for the Party"

"Tart-y for the Party" is a really gorgeous blue based lavender creme from the Avant Garden Collection [2013]. This is very similar in colour to another recently released polish, OPI "You're Such a Budapest", but it has more of a blue tone and is slightly darker

May Nail Art Challenge - Day 04: Star Wars

May the Fourth be with you!

Happy Star Wars day everyone! I have to admit I hadn't watched the full series of Star Wars until recently, I'm a little ashamed to say. I am a sci-fi fan but I never really sat down to watch the series when it was new.

Today I have a Nail of the Day post to show you. This is the next installment of the May Nail Art Challenge hosted by @Californails on Instagram. Because I am really shocking at free hand nail art, I decided to kick up my swatch of China Glaze "Below Deck" from yesterday.

I chose a full nail image covered in start from the Winstonia image plate W107 which I stamped with China Glaze "Joy", a muted red-based purple chrome from the Romantiques Collection [2009]

NOTD - China Glaze "Below Deck"

Hey Ladies,

Winter is fast approaching here in Australia so I thought I would put away the bright colours and show you one of my biggest lemmings that I was able to fulfill recently, China Glaze "Below Deck"

"Below Deck" is a grey-purple creme polish similar to another polish that I have from China Glaze called "Channelesque", but I think that it is a little bit lighter. "Below Deck" was released as part of the Anchors Away Collection in 2011 and I think it is the perfect grey-purple for the colder weather we have been having at home lately

May Nail Art Challenge - Day 01: Flower and Aussie Nails Monday

Hey Ladies,

Today I am doing another combination of challenge posts for one Nail of the Day. It just so happens that the theme for Aussie Nails Monday was "Green" and the theme for May Nail Art Challenge was flowers, so I combined the two to create this cute green gradient manicure.

To create this manicure I applied two coats of Sinful Colors "Mint Apple", a medium jade green with slight cold shimmer, to my nail and allowed it to dry. I then created a gradient effect with China Glaze "Exotic Encounters", a medium dusty teal with a creme finish from the On Safari Collection [2012], using a cosmetic sponge.

I then stamped a full nail flower design from MASH 42 using China Glaze "Millennium", a bright silver chrome from the Khrome Collection [2009] which is perfect for stamping

Foil Focus Friday - Laced Gold

Hey Guys,
Welcome back to my Foil Focus Friday series, weekly posts featuring foils in my collection. Today's foil will be Laced Gold which I purchased from Dollar Nail Art.

I purchased this with my own money and this post is in no way sponsored by Dollar Nail Art.

Laced Gold is a transparent foil with gold veining which doesn't exactly look like lace, more like a marble effect. It kind of reminds me of White Marble foil to be honest.

As a base for this foil I used China Glaze "Passion" because I wanted to see how the "gold on gold" look would go. As this is a transparent foil, you can use any colour nail polish as a base

..:: ITEMS USED ::..
China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
China Glaze "Passion" (one coat)
Nail art foil adhesive (www.dollarnailart.com)
"Laced Gold" nail art foil (www.dollarnailart.com)

This foil is available to purchase on its own from Dollar Nail Art
